Travel:
Airtran, as an airline, blows goats for lunch money. Never flying them again. Other than that, the travel was not bad. I honestly slept most of the way both ways, so that was all good. Got picked up by Jason Price on wednesday evening, and the cold temperature was kinda nice, actually. :)

General Con Stuff:
This has to have been the best ICC I have been to since NWOD Chronicle start. Hands down, the absolute best. The hotel, itself, was AMAZING (How in the hell did we get a five star hotel???), and apparently, we impressed the shit out of them because of our internal cleaning and security teams. I donapos;t recall hearing of any problems that came up with the hotel staff, but I made a point of not working at all this con, because I needed the break from doing work-ing related activities. All in all, it was a very relaxing weekend, as depicted below

I had to leave my breastplate leather armor with Dragonfire... Theyapos;re inscribing it with rampant dragons and the Summer Court Crest... So my armor is going to look even more awesome than it already does. ::grin::

Game - Awakening:
I admit that I had my misgivings about going into ICC Awakening because of how it was run prior and certain interpersonal issues with some members of staff. I am happy to say that not only did they run an excellent game, I had a great time. There was a nice mix of politics and plot, as well as combat and narration, with interpersonal roleplay. The game definetely had a win-feeling at the end. :)

Game - Lost:
::grins:: Initially, I went into ICC only really looking forwards to Lost, and as always, I am not disappointed. Game was incredibly fun, and I really appreciated the ST Support for the "Guarding crew" to make sure that we were not sitting around on a wall all game.

Game - Requiem:
Absolutely the best con requiem game I have EVER been to. I cannot commend the ST staff enough on this. Yes, I went into it rather cranky and (admittedly) over-reacting about the plotbus and how I felt I was going to get explodicated... But everything was handled amazingly well. I love some of the improvements the staff is working on for the venue (Masquerade index FTW).

I had some absolutely incredible Invictus RP, and the ability to effect how the venue reacted to the plot through both the invictus meeting and the masquerade efforts, was so very cool. The STapos;s handled an over-one-hundred person apos;killboxapos; frenzy plot, and brought the focus back to story and roleplay. Over a hundred people in that room, and everything was mediated - moreover, no challenges were allowed for ten minutes thereafter.

I definetely consider that a win - hell, I did not throw a single challenge in requiem all con... Which is a personal win for me.

Drinking - The Venue:
Dear lord in heaven. ::grins::

I saved my heavy drinking for saturday night, and ended up drinking through an entire bottle of 151 Rum. Definetely a blast, and I had a great time seeing everyone and hanging out. Such a vitally needed vacation that even though I feel like I could sleep for another ten hours or so, I am mentally ready to get back into the swing of things.

Ok so my period was suppose to come, but didnapos;t and I am now on cycle day 41.
My cycles are sporadic and my longest ever was 38 days. So I know itapos;s a possibility that Iapos;m pregnant, but what else could it be? And I took a pregnancy test on cycle day 33 and it was negative. Is that too soon for the dollar tree pregnancy tests to register? I have a gyno appt on Tuesday anyway so I will find out soon enough.
So what Iapos;m getting at is..
When you found out you were pregnant how late was your period? and if it was negative the first test, how long did you wait to take a second or third?

Two nights ago, after attending the Liarapos;s Club down in Shard, I was almost hit twice along the road to the gondola as Shard had reports coming in of meteors and things attacking in several areas. I stopped momentarily along the road only to have meteors strike in front of me and behind me. I proceeded forward towards the gondola as there were reports of my homeland of Therengia having trouble as well.

I met up with Nuark along the way as he came to make sure I made�it to the gondola safely. We made our way there but as we talked briefly after our arrival, we were both hit as a meteor stuck the area. Thankfully Nuark is a healer, as he took most of the strike trying to protect me. My injuries were only minimal compared to his, as he quickly healed his damage and headed back to Shard to assist the folks there.

Last night, while a few of us stood at the gates of Theren, another meteor struck the area, with Valleseria taking most of the strike. She was a mess, and although I attempted to drag her to the local healer, I was not fast enough to save her from death. Shortly after that, greater and lesser skeletons, along with wraiths, dinegoes, and hafwa, invaded the area rather quickly. With very few warriors that had arrived on the onset, and few triage able to even get within the gates to attempt to establish a safe area...I was quickly overcome by many invading undead.

With renewed life, I set out once again with several others to kill whatever we could. Many military and warriors had arrived by this time and the triage, bless them, were struggling with their efforts but still managed to do a good job.

The undead now seem to be using the falling fragments against us in battle...and the fragments Iapos;ve found seem to have varying degrees of magic contained within them...in addition to the cold principle making my spirit cold as well.

Our battle priest that lingers with Theren Proper has been killed several times by meteors as well, yet the matronly woman that seems to frequent the area, as well as the Page, are never harmed.

I was telling everyone Daisuke Matsuzaka would pitch another great opening. It turns out he allowed five runs, but he DID make some great plays on the field, including catching a line drive that came right at his head (I would have turned away like George Michael in Arrested Development, LOL) and running to 1st for a tag.

Despite trailing 0-7 in the bottom of the seventh, the Sox launched an epic comeback that made me proud.

Even if they end up losing the series, Iapos;ll be happy that they rallied. This win was enough to appease me.

That being said, of course Iapos;d love to see the Sox win the World Series again this year ^_^

So, in order to sustain life, we have to eat living things, right? And those living things are plants and fungi, which we (generally) eat while still alive, and flesh, which we eat DEAD. Anyways, I think itapos;s kind of weird that you can only eat flesh that met an untimely, violent demise.
Like, if you want to eat a pig, you go and slaughter a pig. You donapos;t eat one that died of "natural causes."

And itapos;s like that with animals, too, they go out and hunt their prey. Except for the carrion eaters. Thank the gods for them. If THEY find a dead pig in a ditch, theyapos;re all like, "score"

Which is why I have decided to be a carrion eater as well. There should be more people who eat found food.

This is something I think about sometimes, when Iapos;m in a diner, and I pass by an empty table that hasnapos;t been cleaned up yet, and there are these plates of food that have been only half-eaten, and it just breaks your heart to see those untouched Eggs Over My Hammy.

There have been many times when Iapos;ve felt like grabbing something off their dirty plate, but then I get all afraid that Iapos;ll get kicked out of the restaurant or something.

It might be worth it, though, just to see how Andrea would react...

aikido uniform

Was a blast had a lot of fun went out every night i think, discovered some good bars and a pole with my name on it, went to uptown, the moa, ikea (twice), and discovered a barnes and noble that sells used books thanks nik that was a fabulous discovery especially since they had the one obsure book i was intent on finding for $6. Pretty damn good deal :)

saw chaapos;s play which was hilarious the best part was just how he looked all that hair and make-up and padded belly... Heehee... "iapos;m sthmawt, i went to sthchooool." hahahahahaha

and of course saw the seeesters and had some shopping fun. I felt bad for dragging jane along to all the stores that might sell gold tights, but she was a trooper. I hope you had fun jane, cuz i sure did :D kate puts up with shopping far better although did you actually buy anything?

also got to go to the vikings game which was fun even though it was one of the most boring games ever. I enjoy football, i really do. But not when no one gets anywhere near the goal line... :p i donapos;t enjoy defensive games. Theyapos;re boring. Blah. But still, first pro football game iapos;ve ever been to and it wasnapos;t bad. Reeeeeally loud though. Holy cow. It was a weekend of loudness between all the bars and the metrodome. My poor ears.

oh, and i was decked out in this purple knit dress and gold tights lol totally looked out of place for sure, but i thought i was sporting the ugly cuteness well :) because, letapos;s face it, any outfit that consists of bright purple and nasty ass yellow gold colors canapos;t be cute, cute, so the best we can hope for is ugly cute, which i think it was. I wish i had a picture...

but weapos;re home, safe and sound. The kitties missed us and told us so by puking all over the house. Not cool. We have new drapes in the living room and a new duvet on the bed. I was very excited about this. I told doug about these ikea purchases when we got done shopping on saturday and he told me i was very married. :P i just enjoy having a house i get to decorate and a pretty bed to sleep in mah oh well. They make me happy.

all in all, well worth the drive to get home. Added bonus - we came home during the height of fall colors in wisconsin and MN so it was gorgeous driving most of the way home. Added non-bonus - hitting chicago rush hour at 6pm. Puke.

I forgot how much paperwork is involved in moving. Today I had to figure out the money situation and switch banks. That alone made me horribly sad as I adored banking with Huntington, but when the guy at Chase seemed like a total skeeze it made it even worse.

To make myself feel better and because I feel I need some, I went out and bought some new work clothes. I hit the jackpot when I found blouses that actually fit around the wonder twins. Wonder indeed These blouses managed to resurrect the rest of my wardrobe. They look great when layered under a sweater. I think I might pick up another white one, just because.

The only things I feel I really need now would be pants. I need some khakis and pants of that nature. All of the ones I had for Interlochen decided to shrink in length. Now I think Iapos;m going to be buying talls instead of longs and just hem them up a bit.

I havenapos;t started packing yet, which is unfortunate but I think Iapos;ll be starting in on that tomorrow. The paperwork I did today was a necessary evil.

The new clothes are a necessity simply because my second week, Iapos;m being shipped off to Missouri for training, and rumor has it Iapos;ll be traveling quite a bit. I think this jobapos;s going to agree with me once I get the hang of it. Iapos;ll admit Iapos;m nervous about learning the new software. ICA was such a learning curve and Iapos;m reverting back to technology that I didnapos;t really know that much, and CED has their own system. However I feel somewhat better because I never saw a Jenzabar app or Citrix at ICA and I coached people through that somewhat thanks to Curt and Eric... Iapos;m going to miss the ICA IT crew, especially the boys who used to so frequently bail me out

The meeting- It was... Hard. To admit to Dan that things arenapos;t good at home is like lifting my hand up and saying, "NO WORRIES BOSS, Iapos;M A FAILURE ALL OVER MY LIFE."

He was supportive but clear that my work is slipping when even I didnapos;t see it.

"I can feel for you, I know this is the worst feeling, first hand. When youapos;re getting hit at home like you are, if you can even call it a home, and work is hitting you because itapos;s suffering too, which explains why weapos;ve been feeling you havenapos;t really been in the game for a month or so now, you have a couple paths. Either pick yourself up and out-perform the stress and pain, or, you can take time away and try to recharge to deal with things but you lose ground on the work front, or you canapos;t deal with it and you move on to a new situation when youapos;re ready, and try to start fresh elsewhere. Itapos;s a crossroads. Iapos;ve managed thousands of people, and I can tell you youapos;re at the best company for this to have happened at. BUT, that being said, your work expectations cannot be lowered, the work needs to be done, even in a personal crisis. Youapos;re the only employee entrusted to increasing a revenue stream in my business basically single handed. Youapos;re benefits are as high as the challenges. Itapos;s NOT easy. You need to figure out where youapos;re at and what you want to do, and compare that with what youapos;re willing to do."

Thatapos;s virtually a word for word what was said. Not all at once, but over a 10 minute period. He also extended the hand to me of employee services, to help me get through this.
